For suppliers · verified catalogues
Your products in Plotlay, with the right codes
Homeowners, designers and builders use Plotlay to draw rooms in plan and 3D and turn them into schedules, estimates, quote requests and room packs. We would like your products to be in it, with your codes, sizes, finishes and photos, as a verified catalogue.
What it does for you
How verified catalogues work
Plotlay users can already bring in a supplier’s catalogue they are licensed to use, for their own projects. A verified catalogue is the next step: your catalogue, from you, for everyone who uses Plotlay. We are starting with a small first group of suppliers.
- You send the file you already make. The one you send trade customers: a BMEcat file, a product feed, or your price list. A feed address we can read is best; an emailed file is fine.
- We load it and check it. Each product is matched to what it is in Plotlay (a basin, a downlight, a floor tile, a door handle) so it draws at its size in plan and 3D. Anything unclear we ask you about.
- It goes live with your name on it. People find your products in the Library by name, code or GTIN, place them, and swap a generic item for yours.
- Updates on your schedule. Monthly, or whenever your price list or feed changes. Discontinued lines drop out of the picker but stay in projects that already use them, so older schedules still read correctly.
Formats we read
- BMEcat 1.2 and 2005, with ETIM features (sizes from ETIM width, height and depth), order units, pack contents, price dates, images and datasheets, and price-only or product updates.
- Product feeds in the Google Merchant format, as XML (RSS or Atom) or TSV, with sizes, extra images and availability.
- Price lists as Excel (XLSX), CSV or TSV. Column names in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish are read as they are, and decimal commas are fine.
- IFC product types (sanitary fittings, lights, furniture, appliances) with their manufacturer information.
- A ZIP of any of these with the product photos, matched by file name or product code.
Revit families and PDF catalogues can’t be read as data. If a price list is all you have, our catalogue template (Excel) or CSV template shows the columns that help most.
The data terms, in short
We send a one-page data licence to sign. Its main points:
- You keep every right in your data, names and trade marks. We use them only to identify your products.
- We show your data as you send it (reformatted, not reworded) and tell users to confirm sizes and prices with you before ordering.
- Prices show only if you tick the box. Then we show recommended retail prices with their currency, whether tax is included and the date they apply from.
- Your name (and logo if you send one) is shown with your products, with the “Verified by” mark.
- Takedown on request: an email is enough, and we remove what you ask from the shared catalogue within 5 business days. Copies already inside users’ own projects and documents may stay there, since they record what was specified at the time.
- Neither side pays the other. Either side can end it on 30 days’ notice.
