Terms of use

Last updated 9 October 2026

These terms apply when you use Plotlay, which is provided by Asset Arc Services ("we"). By using Plotlay you agree to them.

The service

Plotlay is a tool for overlaying drawings on maps, measuring, drawing, capturing site data and exporting plans and files. The tools work in your browser free of charge. Paid plans add cloud storage, share links and teams.

Not a survey

Measurements, areas, overlays, GPS positions and exported plans are only as accurate as the drawings, imagery and devices behind them. They are for planning and information. Plotlay is not a substitute for a licensed surveyor, engineer or certifier where your work, a contract or the law requires one. Check critical dimensions on site.

Your content

You keep all rights in the drawings, data and photos you use with Plotlay. You give us only the permission needed to store and display your content so the service works (for example, syncing a project or showing it through a share link you created). Only upload material you have the right to use.

Map data and imagery

Base maps and imagery come from third-party providers under their own terms, including attribution and limits on exporting or storing imagery. Plotlay leaves restricted imagery (such as Google and Mapbox) out of exports automatically, but you are responsible for how you use exported maps.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break or overload it, to access other people's projects, or to use it for anything unlawful.

Plans and billing

Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Cancel at any time from Billing & invoices in the app; your plan continues to the end of the period you've paid for. A Project pass lasts 30 days and does not renew. Prices are in Australian dollars. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected by these terms.

Availability and liability

We work to keep Plotlay available and your data safe, but we provide it "as is". Keep your own copies of important projects (Export → Project file). To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll tell account holders by email before a significant change takes effect.
